Dr Lauren Basson

Dr. Lauren Basson is an independent lecturer, an experienced research supervisor, a published author and an award winning researcher. She is also a creative professional with a wide range of interests, who believes in investing in the growth of individuals and the upliftment of society as a whole. Dr. Basson has a BA in Audiovisual Communication, a BA honours degree (cum laude) in Sociology, a MA in Sociology (cum laude) and a Doctorate in Sociology. She has successfully supervised the thesis writing of several postgraduate students for over a decade. Dr. Basson has really enjoyed mentoring students on their research journeys and watching them gain in confidence as they develop the skills to tackle research problems on their own. She nurtures a multi-disciplinary approach to research, a philosophy of encouragement to novice researchers and a dedication to continue to advance her own knowledge about research methodologies. Dr. Basson recognises the unique challenges presented by every research journey and appreciates the opportunities to help students overcome them.
